Yo everyone, welcome back to my last blog today🥲 I will be sharing with you all about the design specification and the prototyping 🤯and there will be some exciting videos shown in the last part.🤭
Before that, you may be wondering who🤔 is in my group so it consists of Eshvin, Insyirah, Asraf, and Valarie (me) which is the same as CA1group. 🤗

Design Specifications 👩🎨

A specification is a set of documented requirements to be satisfied by a material, design, product, or service. It is a common preliminary part of any engineering design and product development process.
Design specifications provide product design teams with the information they need to build out new features or functionality of a product.
Good design specifications allow product designers to answer the following questions,🧐
What are we building?👷♀️
What should the final build achieve?👩🔧
How do we measure success? 👩💼
Type of Specifications at the preliminary design stage relevant to product design;
Material Specification

Physical (dimension, weight, the voltage required, etc)
Functional/Performance Specifications
e.g. Acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 8 sec, 50m Water resistance
Describe How the Product Works with the Use of its Mechanism & Operating Principles
Modifications of the device

The design to be able to remove easily like the cover and the inner surface of the cup to be able to wash and clean
The equipment to purchase is not that far; it can be easily accessed online and some shops in the convenience store that sell electricity for the sensor and solenoid valve.
Uses the non-toxic product
The product can last very long as it runs on a battery/ switch which also saves power and is energy efficient.

Operating Principles
The device consists of a sensor, solenoid valve, filter/mesh, and a rounded shape compartment with a red coil around it. The mesh can separate the clarified butter or infuse clarified butter from the water and milk solids that will occur at the top of the procedure. By having a solenoid valve connected to a density/color sensor that is connected to a switch it will be able to drain out the product which is pure butter from the water and milk solids content without pouring or tilting it. The filter/mesh at the base separates the pure butter from the water and milk’s solid content so the outcome will just be pure butter without any residue. The red coil around the compartment acts as a heating element.
So how we started this ICPD Prototype:

WE PLAN,
SKETCH,
TEST,
EXECUTE,
PRESENT.
Let's GO to the planning phase

Remember back in CA1 my group came up with the problem of having to come up with a Clarified Butter Maker as there is no device on the market yet.
Therefore, this time my group proceeded to come up with the specification of this prototype device in order to let our targeted audiences like housewives, chefs, maids, and culinary students help them to be able to access it easily and cleaner way.

We PLAN by using what we learn in CA1 by doing the various steps like:

Literature Review
Problem Statement
Chemical Principles
SCAMPER
Feasibility Analysis
COWS Matrix.
Literature Review

An overview, a summary, and an evaluation of the current state of knowledge about a specific area of research. It may also include a discussion of methodological issues and suggestions for future research
This article helps us think of ways to make our prototype into anti-pesticide to prevent any residues to have pesticides.

Ideas:
Add solenoid valve
Add filter/strainer
Substitute the inner cylinder with an inverted cone-shaped

Let's GO to the sketching phase
We SKETCH by using what we learn in CA1 and practicals by doing the various steps like
2D Drawing in a word document (Dimensions)
Fusion 360
Drawings (CA1 Sketch)
The sketch below was my group's rough idea of how the butter maker would look like:

Drawings ( CA2 Ideal Sketch)
The sketch below shows the prototype of the butter maker my group made

1. Motor
2. Cover - T: 1cm, D: 14cm
3. Panel
4. Inner Cylinder - T:1.6cm, H: 15.5cm, D: 8cm
5. Baffles
6. Heating Element (Coil) - D: 11cm, H: 11cm
7. Thin Mesh
8. Outer Cylinder - T: 1cm or more, H: 17.5cm, D: 14cm
9. Cone
10. Solenoid Valve - L: 2cm, B: 2cm, H: 2cm
11. Base Cover - T: 1cm, D: 14cm
12. Outlet For The Pure Butter After Solenoid Valve - L: 2cm, D:2cm

Let's GO to the testing phase
We TEST by using what we learn in practicals like:
Testing out how clarified butter is made (Asraf helped to test)
Seeing the outcome of the clarified butter
Click on this link to see the video:

Let's GO to the executing phase
We EXECUTING by using what we learn in practicals 3 and 5 like:
Using the Joineries
Using 3d Printing as well

Let's GO to the presenting phase
We started to come up with a theme of Netflix to make our presentation slide look more aesthetic and to add on there is a video to show how the process of it and it shows how fun our group is during this process of the slides:

Summarize the process of the prototype
To end here is the overall view of how we did the prototype and not forgetting to have fun in the process:

Lastly, I would like to thank my amazing groupmates for being there this whole process has been a tiring one but fun and memorable time as my team was there to support me. Without them, I won't be able to achieve what we have today.
4VENGERS, peace out
